Sharpening of scrapers for the arching
Starting from steel sheet for scrapers of 0.5 / 0.6 mm thickness, use a grinding wheel for the initial roughing of the shape being careful not to burn them, then use single cut files to refine the curves and get to the final shape, keeping the surfaces at 90° in order to have cutting edges on both sides (double cutting-edge scrapers).
Then switch on the sharpening stones to remove all the marks of the files, creating a smooth and uniform surface without insisting too much and being very careful not to round it off.
Then proceed with the actual sharpening as described in the video, using a very hard and smooth steel rod (burnisher). Apply the smallest possible pressure and the smallest possible angle to turn the edges, as an excessive pressure and an excessively accentuated angle irremediably adversely affect the efficiency of the cutting edges.
