This micro fluid metering plate features (61) 0.050 mm holes drilled into a 0.50 mm thick 303 stainless steel plate. Micro-machining was performed on a Makino V22 vertical machining center equipped with a 0.050 mm micro drill. The machine’s rigid spindle construction combined with a high precision collet holder assembly and Makino’s hybrid ATLM tool tip contact sensor enabled successful machining of all 61 holes.
