  • Copper properties and prices – steel and aluminium suppliers in West Midlands
Pure copper is a very rare find, as it is usually mixed together with other chemicals known as copper ores. There are about 15 copper ores mined all over the world. The main ones are called sulfide ores where the copper is chemically bonded with sulfur. Other Ores include, oxide ores, carbonate ores, or mixed ores. Some copper ores even contain bits of silver, gold and other precious metals.

Copper is used mainly in electrical, power generation, telecommunications, automotive, printed circuit boards and cooking utensils.

Copper is the basis of numerous common alloys:

    Brass: Copper + zinc
    Bronze: Copper + tin
Phosphor bronze: Copper + tin and phosphorus

Go To https://makemoneywelding.com/mig-welding-mastery-squeeze-page to grab my free report “MIG Welding Mastery!”

When you go to buy metal for welding you have several different options.

You’ve got angle iron, flat bar, round and square tubing, round bar, square bar, and more.

All shapes and sizes of metal are useful, but if you’re getting structural it’s nice to use and iron and tubing due to the strength.

When I’m teaching beginners to weld I typically tell them to stick with a thickness of 1/16″ to start with.

This gives them enough metal thickness so they aren’t going to burn through.

If you would like to download my free “time sensitive” mig welding starters guide go to https://www.makemoneywelding.com to grab my free report.
