Making Copper Ingots might be a good way for some scrappers to maximize their scrap copper value, many people like to stack metals like gold & silver bullion, whilst copper is only an industrial metal and has low value compared to gold, stacking copper is fun for some, including me.
Aluminium Ingots are another, although I find pouring Al’ is harder because of the dross you need to deal with during the melt and whilst pouring the ingot.
I recommend making a large furnace with a big crucible, at least a 4 inch wide mouth if not more because most scrap aluminium are large pieces so you want to fit as much as you can in without needing to cut up the Al’ into smaller pieces.
This furnace is available on ebay but there are many like it, U.S. sellers have very good models available so search furnaces on ebay, remember, repairs might be needed so best to buy from a local supplier.
a cheaper option is to look up how to make a furnace on youtube, there’s good one’s out there running on gas.
