Meterra’s special steel plant provides the following production capacities:
Vacuum induction melting and casting furnace of 8 tons — VIDP (Vacuum Induction Degassing and Pouring) – for a time pool of 300 days/year, operating 200 days/year with solid load and 100 days/year with liquid load, to an annual capacity of 15,000 tons. The VIDP has been manufactured in 2000. However, the equipment operates at the same parameters as a newly manufactured one, as it has been recently refurbished and upgraded;
Air induction furnace of 6 tons — CIA — for a time pool of 300 days/year, with an annual capacity of 4,800 tons of liquid steel for the VIDP furnace, and 11,200 tons for ingot steel;
Electro slagremelting unit of 1.3 tons — ESR — for a time pool of 300 days/year, with an annual capacity of 2,000 tons.
