    BS EN 42crmo4 Alloy Steel

    is a common chromium-molybdenum steel that usually used after quenched
    and tempered, with high intensity, high hardenability. BS EN 42CrMo4
    round steel has better performance than 34CrMo4 steel due to the carbon
    and chromium content is higher. 42CrMo4 alloy steel

    has higher strength and hardenability. The 42CrMo4 alloy material also
    has high fatigue strength and good low-temperature impact toughness. The

    temper brittleness is not obvious.

    Although 42CrMo4 steel is more expensive than 41Cr4 steel, it is more

    preferable in terms of material properties. EN 42CrMo4 alloy
    engineering steel materials have been widely used in automotive driving
    elements. Otai Steel is able to supply you prime quality of 42CrMo4
    alloy steel materials with wide range.

    1.42CrMo4 Alloy Steel Supply Range

    42CrMo4 Round bar Sizes: 80mm – 1200mm

    5. Heat Treatment of 42CrMo4 Steels

    Annealing of 42CrMo4 Steels

      Heat steel42CrMo4 forged steel slowly and thoroughly to 800-850°C;

      Cool slowly in the furnace to the temperature 480°;

      Complete annealing the steel in the air.

      Quenched and Tempered (Q+T)

        Heat 42CrMo4 steel slowly to 880°C;

        Soak at this temperature then quench in oil;

        Temper as soon as 42CrMo4 steel reach room temperature (20°C);

        Heat uniformly to the suitable temperature of 560°C;

        Withdraw the 42CrMo4 material from the furnace and cool in the air.

        6. Forging of 42CrMo4 Alloy Steel

          Preheat 42CrMo4 engineering steel uniformly and slowly;

          Increase the forging temperature up to 1150-1200°C.

          Always keep the forging temperature above at least 850°C

          7.Weldability

          Engineering

          steel 42CrMo4 has only limited weldability. Preheating to 200-300°C is
          strongly recommended; the upper limit should not be exceeded because of
          risk for deterioration of the chrome layer.

          Alloy steel 42CrMo4
          can be friction welded. However, precautions are necessary so as to
          limit the formation of undesirable microstructures in the welded zone.

          8.Application of 42CrMo4 Alloy Steels

          EN

          42CrMo4 alloy steel is widely used for engineering steel purpose, such
          as: making various kinds of machinery, automobile, mining spare part,
          the gearwheel of the engine, the driving gear of supercharger, the
          connecting rob, the pinchock under the high pressure, parts for power
          train applications, cold formed fastener components, shafts, gears,
          drill collars for the oil exploration, etc.

  • This is a technique that can be used with any common welding process, MIG and TIG (with Stainless or other specialty filler wire), or Stick Welding, as you’ll see I use Nickel-99 electrodes to make this video.

    Just thought I’d pass this along, hopefully it’ll help you weld up that cracked engine block or other somesuch repair. This technique worked for me, on that particular casting, your milage may vary. Have fun, and happy welding :)

    September 25th sees the worldwide release of Rammstein’s “In Amerika” (DVD & Blu-ray), a lavish package containing a major new documentary about the band, Rammstein In Amerika; a short film about the making of their “Liebe Ist Für Alle Da” album; and the whole of their legendary Madison Square Garden show.

    Biography:
    Rammstein were formed in 1993 by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an “m”) from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show.

    (The literal translation of “ram stein” is a battering ram made of stone.) Word of Rammstein’s horror/romanticist blend of theater and music — one-time Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann would sing entire songs engulfed in flame from head to toe — spread quickly. The band’s first album, Herzeleid (Heartache), built on the grounds created by the band’s live reputation. Scaling the German charts (and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later), the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region. As Rammstein’s second album, Sehnsucht (Longing), was released, the band was headlining throughout Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. Sehnsucht entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland. Within weeks, entries on other countries’ charts had Sehnsucht rubbing elbows with the Prodigy, Radiohead, and the Rolling Stones on Billboard’s cumulative Eurochart. From there the fever spread, transcending any perceived language barrier. Mutter followed in 2001, Reise, Reise in 2004, and the live collection Volkerball in 2006. Liebe Ist fur Alle Da followed in 2009. A limited edition of the album was packed in a metal suitcase that also housed six sex toys, one for each member of the band. ~ Ed Nimmervoll, Rovi
