5.Heat Treatment of 34CrNiMo6 Engineering Steel
Quenched and Tempered (Q+T) of 34CrNiMo6 Steel
Heat 34CrNiMo6 round steel slowly to the temperature of 850°C;
Soak at this hardening temperature quench in oil;
Temper as soon as 34CrNiMo6 steels reach room temperature.
Heat uniformly to the suitable temperature;
Withdraw from the furnace and cool in the air.
The usual tempering temperature is 600°C which depending on the actual requirements.
6.Forging of DIN 34CrNiMo6 / 1.6582 Steel
Hot forming temperature: 1100-900oC.
7.Machinability of Steel 34CrNiMo6
is best done with this 1.6582 alloy steel in the annealed or normalized
and tempered condition. It can be machined by all conventional methods.

The Plasel PMT Cavity Technology Advantage
The Polyshot Pipette Tip Mold features cavity sections with technology developed by Plasel Mold, of Lavon Israel. This technology, referred to as PMT (powered metal technology), allows cavity section production with cavity to cavity accuracy of less than 5 microns. The use of a master mold for each cavity or cavity section guarantees each component to be precisely the same, including all future spare cavity components.
The technology allows the cavity sections to be produced as an integrated one piece unit or with individual sections stacked as wafers. Spares can be ordered with the mold or delivered in as little as 3 weeks at any point after the initial order.
Key components such as the core pin receiving buttons are designed for easy resurfacing without the use of shims or adjustments. This is accomplished with an adjusting feature that forces them up against the cavity sections. This feature also allows the receiving buttons to be of unequal size in the mold with no loss of precision.
When commissioning a new mold, the positions of the 4 major cavity clusters can be moved in the X and Y axis for ultra precise centering of part wall thickness. This is accomplished by adjustments to the hardened tool steel receiving rails, 4 for each cluster. Once this is set, the clusters can be removed and replaced with absolute repeatability.
